Auckland kitchen is a work of art |
A house filled with fine art needs a kitchen that can hold its own without upstaging the artwork. To fit with our client’s modernised bungalow (and art collection), designer Wayne Church developed a kitchen design that bridged the gap between old and new. Featuring a classic shaker style, Church refined the detail by reducing the width of the shaker panel to create a more contemporary look. The beautiful, classic tones of the Carrara marble top and splashback, are balanced by the cabinetry, painted in a strikingly modern colour - Resene Foundry. This balancing of old with new helps the kitchen to sit comfortably in its surroundings, and the dark colour certainly helps the colourful artworks to shine.

In every other respect this is a thoroughly modern kitchen, complete with black Blum hardware, including Legrabox soft-close drawers. The Blanco silgranit sink in anthracite keys perfectly with the kitchen colour, as does the brass tapware. There is also a compact scullery to provide additional functionality.
