Ponsonby kitchen: light adds space
|
When it came time to renovate their Ponsonby villa kitchen, our clients chose to depart from the traditional villa look. Like many villa owners, our clients wanted a clean, contemporary, light look for their family-friendly kitchen space. Minimalist, contemporary design sits very well with the ornate detailing of traditional villas.
Our designers kept the elements and colours simple and monolithic to create a sense of space and light. Dark and light colours have been kept together in large masses providing nice contrast without complication. A patterned splashback adds texture and interest without dominating the understated feel of the space. Negative detail handles enhance the uncluttered look and pops of red from the client's accessories finish the look. A roller shutter conceals the appliances which are handily located next to the breakfast bar. |
